Key achievements:
Lauren Soderberg has a background in high performance sport spanning over 15 years. A previous athlete turned coach, Lauren established herself on the world stage professionally taking a little- known Pacific Island nation VANUATU from no world ranking back in 2008 to securing multiple podium finishes, the country's first FIVB gold medal and a top 10 result at the 2015 World Championships.
Since then, Lauren has gone on to become an FIVB international Coaching Instructor and Coach Developer with an impressive 23 international coaching medals accumulated throughout her career thus far.
Lauren became the first woman to coach at Olympic level in her sport of beach volleyball in 2016 when she qualified her U23 World Championship winning Australian team into the Rio Olympic Games after 5 successive podium finishes on the Asian Beach Volleyball Tour.
She then went on to manage Volleyball Australia's Asia / Pacific Partnership program working closely with the Australian DFAT to deliver sport for development projects in the Asia Pacific region. Lauren returned to a high performance in Europe, working in Denmark with the Copenhagen Beach Elite Men’s and Women's Program as both the Technical Head Coach and Coach Developer.
Most recently Lauren has worked as Director an international NGO utilising the power of sport for positive social impact and assisting in the achievement of the UNSG’s.
Lauren also contracts as Australian Institute of Sport Athlete Wellbeing and Engagement Manager for Squash Australia and is involved in the Women in High Performance Coaching Projects.
She is passionate about using her expertise to assist communities, governments, and organisations to achieve meaningful goals through the incorporation of high performance and sport development .
Key achievements:
Bo Soderberg launched his professional Beach Volleyball Career at the European Championship in 1999, since then he has gone on to represent his home country of Denmark in over 500 international games. Highlights of his Danish playing career include becoming the Danish national Champion x 7 times. Internationally Bo competed at the highest level of the FIVB world tour with a top result of 5th pace at the 2011 World Championships. Bo also went on to represent his adoptive home of Australia with several top 10 world tour placement and as a finalist at the Asian Championships. He also collected 4 x Australian Championship gold medals before retiring from international competition in 2016.
Bo has coached within the Australian system placing 9th at the junior world championships and working with Norway women’s on the FIVB world tour. In addition Bo coached 100’s of athletes through his BVB school in Australia , Glenelg Beach Volleyball School and was a founding coach for Beach Camp International, training athletes from all over the world in Norway, Denmark and Australia camps.

At the end of your volleyball adventure, you will have the option to add a safari in two of Africa's best safari parks, Amboseli National Park and Nairobi National Park. During your safari, you’ll be staying at some amazing safari camps. Most of these places are located on the border of the game park and it is likely you will see or hear animals from your room. This will give you the best chance of spotting Africa's most exotic animals.
About Amboseli National Park
Embark on a captivating safari in Amboseli National Park, where the untamed beauty of Kenya unfolds. Witness majestic herds of elephants against the breathtaking backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro. Explore the vast wetlands full of birdlife, including flamingos, and roam the wide-open plains looking for lions, cheetah, giraffe, antelope, and most of the other exotic African animals.
About Nairobi National Park
The Nairobi National Park is the only safari park in Africa where you can snap a picture of a giant white or black rhino with a skyscraper in the background. Located in the heart of Nairobi, this national park is a sanctuary for rhinos and is the fantastic place to start your African adventure. This park is also home to large cats, zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, various antelopes and many different bird species.

These safari camps are very comfortable and each safari tent usually includes a comfortable bed, a private bathroom and toilet, a verandah for game viewing and relaxing, and a lounge. The camp also includes a restaurant which will prepare freshly cooked 3 - 5 course meals (included in your package), a well stocked bar and a number of communal areas (i.e. fire places, swimming pools, lounges, etc).

We encourage you to join all of the above, but if you cannot, we understand and personalised pricing is available based on the sections you join. It is also possible to trek Kilimanjaro, trek with gorillas or chimps, swim with whale sharks, visit Victoria Falls or explore Egypt.
