About the Great Migration
The Great Migration is the annual migration of more than 1 million wildebeest through the Masai Mara in Kenya and the Serengeti in Tanzania. During Jul - Oct each year, the herds are in the Northern Serengeti & Masai Mara. This is the best time to see them making their famous river crossings. It is also a fantastic time of year to spot big cats, many of whom have also migrated following their food source.
About the Masai Mara (note: the word Maasai was incorrectly spent when the Masai Mara was given it's name and has never been fixed)
The Masai Mara is home to huge populations of big cats, and has the highest concentration of big cats in Africa. Covering more than 1,500 square kilometres, the Masai Mara is home to approximately 900 lion, 300 cheetah and 100 leopard. It is also home to more than 80 different species of mammals and more than 450 varieties of birds. It is no wonder it is one of Africa's best safari parks, and a must-see for anyone going on safari!
About Nairobi National Park
The Nairobi National Park is the only safari park in Africa where you can snap a picture of a giant white or black rhino with a skyscraper in the background.
Located in the heart of Nairobi, this national park is a sanctuary for rhinos and is the fantastic place to start your African adventure. This park is also home to large cats, zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, various antelopes and many different bird species.

This is the perfect opportunity to immerse in Kenyan culture, practice your Swahili and get to know some of the most resilient and remarkable people on the planet.
The Mirror of Hope (MOH) was founded in 2010 by Tommy & Judy Nyawir, to empower vulnerable women & children living in the Kibera Slums. MOH achieves their mission through the implementation of a range of innovative education, employability and entrepreneurship initiatives. We first visited MOH in 2015 and we have been supporting them ever since.

Adventure Out Loud donate 50% of our profits to keep disadvantaged children in school. This means that by travelling with us, you are making a huge impact on the fight against poverty.

This is highly recommended, and as part of your adventure, we will take you to meet your sponsor student and their family so you can see first-hand the impact that you are making. Located on the banks of the World's Second Largest Fresh Water Lake is Gombe National Park. With less than 2,000 visitors each year, Gombe is one of Africa's best kept secrets. It is also our favourite African adventure!
This optional 4 - 5 days add-on will see you trekking with chimps, exploring giant waterfalls, boating on Lake Tanganyika, fishing for dinner and relaxing by the lake with a bottle of wine watching a perfect sunset - and don't worry if you can't catch your dinner, your personal chef has you covered.

A little more about Gombe & Jane Goodall
In 1960, a young English secretary with a passion for animals began researching chimps in what is now know as Gombe National Park. Jane Goodall’s objective was to observe and record the behaviour of our closest related primate. Gombe is the oldest chimp research centre in the world, and much of the research that has helped us understand primates, is from the research Jane & her team have completed at Gombe. This is guaranteed to be one of the most unique and memorable experiences of your life.
