Gena Kenny is an adventurer, entrepreneur and yoga instructor who is best know for her love of animals and the great outdoors.
Gena is the author of the best- selling Gift of Yoga book and DVD. She is an avid outrigger paddler and has won a number of competitions, however, her love of paddling is more about connection to nature than winning medals. Gena is also mum to Duke, a very spoilt pup who features on her business card.. not sure if it is his or her mobile but it is very cute.
Having taught yoga for more than 20 years, Gena is renowned for her ability to help those on the yoga journey feel comfortable in their practice and in their own bodies.
Gena has a great sense of humour and genuinely cares about the happiness and wellbeing of her students. She has also lead yoga adventures to Hawaii and Fiji for more than 10 years and she has an innate ability to connect her adventurers to the essence and culture of the community they are visiting.

About the Serengeti/Ndutu
In Jan - Mar each year, millions of wildebeest flood the Serengeti & Ndutu plains during their annual migration between the Masai Mara in Kenya and the Serengeti in Tanzania, making this the best place to be on safari in Jan - Mar. This is also the time of year that the wildebeest give birth, and lots of baby wildebeest equal lots of hungry cats.
About the Ngorongoro Crater
You will also be visiting our favourite safari destination, the Ngorongoro Crater. Once upon a time, "The Crater" was a volcano larger than Kilimanjaro which erupted and collapsed, creating the largest unbroken, unflooded caldera in the world - basically a 300 square km bowl of African wildlife. Visiting these safari parks gives you the best chance to spot all of Africa’s exotic safari animals, including the Big 5 (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino & buffalo). You may even hear these animals as you relax around an open fire, eat dinner under the stars or from the safety of your luxury safari tent.

These safari camps are very comfortable and each safari tent usually includes a comfortable bed, a private bathroom and toilet, a verandah for game viewing and relaxing, and a lounge. The camp also includes a restaurant which will prepare freshly cooked 3 - 5 course meals (included in your package), a well stocked bar and a number of communal areas (i.e. fire places, swimming pools, lounges, etc).
Tour the school, participate in a music or art class and visit the home of one of St Jude's eager young students (if you sponsor, you will visit your sponsor student's home). During this home visit, you will get the chance to meet the student's family and immerse in Tanzania culture as you sample local foods and learn a to speak a little Swahili. More about the School of St Jude:
Founded by Australian Gemma Sisia in 2002, St Jude has grown into one of the most respected schools in Tanzania. With a mission to fight poverty through education, St Jude achieves their objectives by providing a high-quality, free education to 1,800 disadvantaged Tanzanian students. To receive a scholarship at St Jude, you must be both bright and disadvantaged (i.e. living below the poverty line, etc), and to keep your scholarship you must maintain a "B" grade point average. St Jude have adopted these strict conditions as a way of inspiring their students to achieve greatness, with many aiming to be Tanzania's next doctors, lawyers, engineers and leaders.
Since their first graduating class in 2015, St Jude has had a number of students receive full scholarships to prestigious universities in America and around the world. Most recently, a survey of families with a student who had graduated from St Jude, found that more than 80% of these families were no longer living in poverty.
St Jude is very close to our heart and in many ways, it is the time that our founder, Nate, spent volunteered at St Jude (from 2013 – 2015) that greatly influenced Nate's passion for keeping disadvantaged children in school and inspired him to start Adventure Out Loud as a catalyst for making a difference in the world through adventure travel.
